About Us
Two old guys. Two skateboards. One simple idea — Own The Fall.
We were kids when we first discovered skateboarding. Back then, falling was just part of it. You got back up, dusted yourself off and tried again.
Fast forward a few decades and we found ourselves back on our boards in our forties. It didn't take long to realise that our bodies didn't quite agree with the idea anymore.
The falls hurt more. The bruises lasted longer. And after a few painful encounters with concrete, we found ourselves avoiding the ramps and tricks we once wouldn't have thought twice about.
Then we changed our mindset.
Instead of worrying about falling, we started embracing it.
Because sometimes you have to fall to learn how to get back up.
And strangely enough, after those first few big falls, we felt pretty good. Covered in cuts and bruises, absolutely knackered — but still standing.
“I didn't die.”
That became the attitude behind Own The Fall.
We approach skateboarding in much the same way we've approached our own mental health. Don't try to fix everything at once. Do what feels right for you. Take things at your own pace. Celebrate the small victories.
And most importantly:
Don't give up.
Own The Fall isn't about being the best skater, landing every trick or pretending that falling doesn't hurt.
It's about accepting the fall, getting back up and finding your own way forward.
Ultimately, it's about finding your freedom — whatever that looks like for you.
